Sharing Trails

How to share trails — visibility settings, share links, and embedding.

Sharing trails with others

You can share your self-created trails with other users so they can follow the trail.

Visibility settings

Trails have three visibility levels:

  • Private: Only you can see and use the trail
  • Link access: Anyone with the link can see and follow the trail
  • Public: The trail appears in the Explorer and in search

Sharing options

Via the share menu on the trail detail page you can:

  • Copy the trail link to clipboard
  • Use the operating system's native share dialog
  • Generate and print a QR code for the trail

Using shared trails

Recipients of a trail link can view the trail, see the waypoints, and perform their own check-ins. However, they cannot edit the trail — only the creator can.
